At Barrelhead Farms Winery, we specialize in dry, full-bodied wines, that are crafted by hand using traditional methods of barrel aging and gentle handling to produce top quality wines for any occasion. We practice traditional winemaking methods of minimal interference, open fermentation and barrel aging. We use only organic herbicides and pesticides in the vineyard and strive for excellence in winemaking and sustainability in our vineyard. Our Vineyard practices are customized to match the particular characteristics of the soil to help the vines produce the best fruit possible, and to in turn, achieve the best wine possible. Directed by Kief Manning, his team implements irrigation and nutrient regimes, trellis system and canopy management, rootstock and clone combinations, and pruning and cane selection for each block within a vineyard. Because of the lands diverse geological makeup, even within one vineyard parcel there may be several different types of soil with different degrees of nutrients for vines and water-holding capacity.

Nestled between the majestic Mt. Graham and the unique Dos Cabezas mountains, in the Coronado National forest, a unique wine tasting experience awaits you. It was spring 2005, in the early morning shadows of the Dos Cabezas Mountains, that managing partners, Mark and Jacque Cook, planted the first vines of the El Pinito Vineyard. The vineyard is named for the lone, majestic pine tree in the vineyard, all that remains of what once was a golf course. The vines flourished, and on November 18, 2006, the Coronado Vineyards tasting room held its grand opening. Coronado Vineyards now produces some of Arizona’s finest wines. With elevations reaching over 4,000 feet, Southeast Arizona’s high desert is the perfect location for producing grapes of distinct quality and character. Warm and dry summer days, cool nights, and mineral rich soils contribute to the intensity and wide range of flavors of our wines. We craft each wine to be a unique experience, from sweet table wines and exciting blends, to our fine varietals including Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling. Our tasting room, gift shop and El Pinito vineyard offer the perfect setting to enjoy wine and appetizers with a group of friends or family. Come experience all that Coronado Vineyards has to offer. An adventure in wine tasting awaits you.

The story of Four Tails Vineyard starts back in the early 1940s when Cale’s grandfather was conducting training as a gunner on a B-17 in the desert Southwest. He loved the unique beauty of the desert and never forgot how much he enjoyed being there. Fast forward to the late 1980s when Cale’s grandparents (Lew and Alice) decided to sell their farm in Connecticut and build their dream home in the desert. They settled on 80 acres in Pearce and named it the Winged Foot Ranch. This is where Four Tails Vineyard is today. They had a few head of cattle, chickens, roses, and other hobbies to stay busy.

From transforming cities to nurturing grapes, serendipity describes the LDV Winery evolution. As professional community and strategic planners, LDV owners Peggy Fiandaca and Curt Dunham made a career assisting clients in creating successful plans. A strong game plan is vital in any industry, but more importantly, success results from responding to possibilities. That life journey of possibilities is what led Fiandaca and Dunham to develop a vineyard in southeastern Arizona that is now producing distinctive, hand-crafted wines. Fiandaca and Dunham, long-time wine collectors, have found the magic of the “grape to glass” journey intriguing. From wine collecting and thinking about retiring, to finding the perfect land in Arizona’s Chiricahua Mountains our vineyard/winemaking adventure began in the most serendipitous way.

We only make wine from grapes grown at our place. We ferment with the wild yeasts that come in on the fruit. We nourish our soils with organic Gypsum and compost, balancing the pH of the soil instead of adding acids from a lab in California. We weed by hand and machine instead of spraying, and treat the vines with only organic sprays. And we mow between the rows instead of harrowing, mowing the wild grasses so the nutrients return to the soil, also absorbing CO2 instead of adding to the atmosphere.

Sándor Vineyards was established in 2011 at the base of the Chiricahua National Monument in the Sulphur Springs Valley of Cochise County in Southern Arizona. At the confluence of desert and sky, the site was carefully selected after extensive testing to identify the ideal mineral content ensuring outstanding flavor and wine production. Our vineyard, located along the banks of Turkey Creek as it meanders from the mountains into the sprawling valley, is located along the edge of a sinuous desert greenbelt that supports our extraordinary grape production connecting every sip to the Sonoran desert. Our location was carefully chosen for its environmental qualities and its deep connections to the history and heritage of Arizona. In the 1800s Cochise County was the locale epic stories of cowboys and miners, gold rushes and gunslingers, military skirmishes and Apache warriors with agricultural traditions the singular constant. Our region has been awarded numerous distinctions for our culinary and wine heritage. Nearby Tucson received the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), as a City of Gastronomy in 2016. The name Sándor honors Sandor Rajki, a WWII Hungarian freedom fighter who brought Western Hungarian winemaking knowledge and traditions dating from pre-Roman times to the vineyard established in the Chiricahua Foothills of Cochise County. Sandor Vineyards continues this legacy carrying on the established philosophy and values of excellence, tradition, integrity, heritage and flavor.
